It is implemented in aphasic patients who have lost their MINIMUM COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT and can be assessed trough a video by previously signing an informed consent. This video is fundamental for recording and performing a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the PRAGMATIC FEATURES of each of the 8 basic speech acts assessed with this instrument. To elicit such speech acts a format (script) is followed within a dynamics similar to the one of a spontaneous interaction. The therapist makes the patient’s companion participate during the assessment.
Instrument 1 recording sheet is made up of 65 items (three-point Likert scale), with different response categories (absent, brief, steady; never, sometimes, always) and 30 qualitative items with Yes/No answers. Pragmatic features grouped into linguistic production, paralinguistic production, nonverbal coherence and verbal coherence are analyzed.
